The Foundation was so excited to bring the USA Beach Volleyball Olympians,
Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena, to Lake Charles for our Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser on the weekend of October 8-9, 2021 honoring “Heart Warrior Owen” and his family.

South Beach Volleyball hosted the event which featured live music by The Vermillionaires, DJ by Deep South Productions, food, drinks, and plenty of Sand Volleyball.

Skipstone Wine Dinner Event

Skipstone Winery is tucked between two stunning hillsides in the mountains above Alexander Valley in California. They aspire to perfection in every aspect of their wine growing and are committed to nurturing the precious resource that is their 200-acre estate. Since 2005, Skipstone has been growing and producing distinctive wines that are available exclusively on an allocation basis to Collector Members.

The Local Heart Foundation had the incredible opportunity of hosting a private wine pairing dinner featuring wines from Skipstone paired perfectly with a 5-course meal prepared by Restaurant Calla.

Private Client Director, Jason Heintz of Skipstone, made the journey from California to Louisiana this week and built his trip around our event, bringing all of Skipstone’s wines including new releases along with some special offerings and library wines.

Chef David Phillips of Calla’s pulled inspiration from the wines to create an amazing menu that featured caviar atop blinis with crème fraiche, duck two ways, short ribs with horseradish whipped potatoes and more.
