Our Heartbeat...Our Mission
Inspiring hope and improving the quality of life for local individuals and their families in our community of Southwest Louisiana by providing resources for overwhelming and unplanned financial burdens while undergoing treatment for heart disease.

"Our Hearts Helping Our Community's Hearts."
Our Goal
Founded in 2017, Local Heart Foundation, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, works to promote a culture of compassion in Southwest Louisiana through fundraising efforts to directly impact and aid local individuals and families who are currently dealing with heart disease.
Our Story
This Foundation was a dream from within Tim and Tammy Andreas’ hearts, their mission being to raise as much awareness and funds by creating a foundation to partner with local families affected by Heart Disease. They have continually seen needs of local families in Southwest Louisiana who could use assistance with financial expenses, heart-felt support and encouragement that has gone unmet and they want to make a difference in our community.
Through the “Local Heart Foundation” individuals and families now will have a source to help in desperate times, financially, physically and emotionally.
Facing congenital heart defects (CHDs), around 1 in 100 newborns in the United States embark on a courageous journey, with approximately 1 in 4 encountering critical challenges. The prospect of life-threatening risks lingers without timely intervention in the first year. When traveling out of state for life-saving heart surgeries, the burden intensifies for CHD families. While insurance often covers hospitalization costs, they contend with additional challenges—out-of-pocket expenses for travel, meals, and hotels. This financial strain amplifies the emotional hurdles they navigate, underscoring the importance of comprehensive support beyond medical care. Every little heart deserves not just medical attention but also understanding and assistance throughout this intricate and heartfelt journey.
