Lilliana

We often witness incredible strength in the face of adversity, and the story of baby Lilliana and her mom, Delisa, dad Dewauan, and big sister Makenzie is a powerful example.

Born on May 27th, Lilliana's journey began with an immediate rush to the NICU as her oxygen levels plummeted. Doctors soon diagnosed her with a serious heart condition: the lining of her aorta is too small, restricting vital blood flow. This led to her urgent transport to New Orleans, where Lilliana was faced immense challenges. While intubated, she experienced a critical setback when a feeding IV caused fluid to dangerously accumulate around her liver, requiring emergency surgery. Delisa, Makenzie, and Lilliana stayed in New Orleans until July 18th when the cardiology team decided she was growing well and allowed her to come back to Lake Charles! As of now, Lilliana has not had open heart surgery but will be monitored closely to watch her aorta as she grows.
